Sadan, Dov
(1902-96)
   Israeli Yiddish and Hebrew writer. He was born in Galicia, and emigrated to Israel in 1925. He first worked on the newspaper Davar and for the Am Oved publishing company. In 1952 he was appointed to teach Yiddish literature at the Hebrew University; he also taught Hebrew literature at Tel Aviv University. He was elected to the Knesset in 1965. He translated many works from Polish, German and Yiddish, and published several collections of literary criticism.
